I have always used a hand mixer, which is great. But as I get older I wanted something that would make life a little easier. This Kitchen Aid is built solidly and designed with the user in mind. Opening, closing, is smooth and easy. The speeds are clearly indicated. Changing the attachments is very simple. I made cakes and whipped cream so quickly and easily! Have yet to try it for bread or pasta dough but as a machine for a regular household this is an excellent choice.

I received this as a gift and could not believe how long I went with out realizing how great this mixer is. It looked a bit intimidating but OMG, it is wonderful! Easy to use and best of all easy to clean. No more holding the hand mixer! I find myself using this a lot.

My husband bought me an Artisan (Empire Red, of course) for my 30th birthday gift and it has changed our eating and shopping habits entirely within just one month! It is so much fun and so easy to use. I'd never had much success with baking - bread making would end in a tantrum, but within two attempts I had perfectly made focaccia, approved by my Italian hubby. I shall never buy a baked good again but the appliance goes far beyond just baking and I've already improved on existing main courses in my repertoire.
I've read a few complaints from people saying that the machine is loud, they'd so wrong, I was expecting a construction site from some views but it's quite soothing in reality.
I officially am in love. With my husband yes but mostly with my Artisan!
