I've wanted a Kitchenaid stand mixer for a long time and finally decided to splurge when I could get a good deal. I've made frosting, batters, doughs, pie crusts, whipped cream, and more. I've had it about a month and I've been using about twice a week at least with no problems (knock on wood) and I haven't heard it struggling with doughs! It's so nice to be able to put everything in and walk away, no more hand kneading or digging out the electric hand mixer. I got the Tangerine color - it's more of a subdued orange than it looked online, but I love it. I just wish the attachments were more affordable. Definitely recommend making a permanent place for it on your counter. The instruction book that comes with it is great too, includes recipes for all the attachments. Love it!!

I have always used a hand mixer and had thought using a stand version would be better. This is a great machine but it has a 5 Quart bowl. Most things I use work well in a 2 quart or 1 quart bowl so this is HUGE in comparison. I have a small kitchen but it uses about how much I usually need. But a cookie recipe or a regular cake hardly uses up the bowl. Best part is it frees up your hands to add ingredients. Sometimes with a hand mixer tough to hold the mixer, the bowl and add ingredients. This is way easy.
Looking forward to using this for whipped cream and merigue.

I have already used it to make pizza dough, brioche and meringues and it works beautifully with both dense and very delicate mixtures.
