It was a best gift for my wife for Thanksgiving. This mixer is as sturdy as a Aero-Space Plane. Unlike all the cheap mixers out there, I am completely confident that this thing will last FOREVER! Nice job KitchenAid. Thanks for making such a great product.

First Time with a Stand Mixer

Learning how to bake has been on the bucket list for awhile. Looking through so many recipes and getting excited, but realizing a lot of them called for a stand mixer....my mom loves hers so I ordered my Empire Red 5qt. The day after I got it, made 2 different types of cookies that were really good. The only downside is that even though I washed the bowl a couple of times, black residue was coming off and into the batter.

The only downside to this appliance is that the attachments are pretty expensive and yet very tempting to get. Oh..and...it also makes me want to cook and bake more often!

I bought this mixer before Christmas as an early present to myself! I like the plastic pouring guard as it makes adding things so much easier and less messy. It is heavy duty making it difficult to move, but the non-slip grips on the bottom keep it in place while the mixer is being used. I bought the mixer in red, which really brightens up my kitchen. It is easy to change the mixer whisk, whipper, and dough hook and to remove the bowl.
