My artisan mixer was a gift. I stil have my original KitchenAid mixer which is about 20 years old and it still works! I do a lot of baking so it's so helpful to not have to stand and hold a mixer. I can be doing other things as the mixer does the work for me. I plan to keep my old one and use it if I need to mix different batters at the same time. I bake a lot of decorated sugar cookies and cakes for friends and family.
