I got this as a surprise birthday present from my husband. I forgot I had mentioned I wanted one. To be honest, when I saw he bought it for me I instantly thought "Uh oh, what am I actually going to use this for?" I'm not a big time baker, cooker, etc. but I do prepare meals regularly. Well, I've used it so many times! To whisk eggs, to mix batters, to mix my own salad dressing, etc. So useful! So much easier than hand mixing - I"m not strong enough for that!

I have put off buying this item for years but finally made the purchase after hand mixing my last batch of double chocolate chip cookies; it too forever and a day to mix in the cocoa powder. My first baking session with this mixer was making a peanut butter cheesecake. It was so much easier to just place the ingredients in the mixing bowl and let the machine do all the work. I rated this item four stars only for the fact that you still need to stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl. If the package had come with one of those new scraping paddles I would have rated this five stars. Seriously friends....take the plunge and buy it.

I bought this stand-mixer about a month ago and it has now been through a huge holiday baking marathon. I have made bread, biscuit, and cookie dough, whipped pies and toppings, stiffened egg whites to awesome heights, made moist cakes and a great cranberry dish just to mention a few things it had it's mixer blades in. I can also have a conversation with others around me while doing all this. It runs so quietly no matter what speed I have it on. Oh, and did I mention the glass bowl and metal mixing bowl have very handy handles!
