I bought this so I wouldn't have to need dough by hand. It has so many other uses and attachments available too. The motor is beefy and can stand up to normal use above all others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first KitchenAid mixer, and I’m impressed with what it's capable of. Though, the head bangs around too much when kneading dough, even after several adjustments.

This mixer works like a dream. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. Ive wanted one for years, and now i finally have one. I dont know how i ever lived without it. It comes in handy at least a couple times a week or more somwtimes. Very easy to use. I'm very glad I invested in a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer

I purchased my first Kitchenaid tilt-head stand mixer in 1978. After 25 years of daily use I managed to burn out the lowest setting but otherwise the mixer still worked perfectly. I bought the 6 quart lift-bowl mixer and used it daily until we moved into a house with an appliance lift that would not accommodate the bigger mixer. So I purchased a new Artisan (in the spiffy bright turquoise). I love it.
I use the grinder, shredder and citrus juicer attachments regularly.

Incidentally, I gave my 36-year-old Kitchenaid to our oldest son, and it is still going strong.
Pros: easy to use, Performance, Design
