I bought this a week ago and just love it. I have wanted a kitchenaid stand mixer for years. I've been cooking and bake a lot lately and this is the dream machine that I expected it to be. Love the new artisan look and the classic power that this gives me. I would recommend this machine to anybody who's serious about cooking and baking.

I grew up with an oster mixer that the beaters were offset and the bowl spun. It was my mom's and I have always thought it was awesome. It broke finally after 25 years of lots of mixing, shredding, blending (it was an all in one piece). I had always been skeptical of the kitchen aid because you have to stop the mixing in order to scape the sides....also I was skeptical of its ability to get all the way to the bottom. While the beaters in the center are still something to get used to and you do have to scrape when the bowl is stopped and beaters raised, it is a really great machine. You don't have to do quite as much scraping because of the efficiency of the mixer itself. I am very pleased with the performance and look forward to adding to the accessories. An ice cream maker attachment seems very tempting :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Artisan 5 qt. to replace a Pro series Kitchen Aid mixer that I had for over 30 years. The Artisan has a smaller footprint and works just as well for home use.

BEST MIXER EVER!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Kitchen Aid mixer. My children bought me a new one for Christmas and then fought over who was going to get the old one. The old one was 40+ years old and worked like a new one and it was AVACADO GREEN. I would never buy any other stand mixer to use on a daily basis. I also have the Kitchen Aid hand mixer.
