Upgraded my old 4.5 classic to the Artisan. I love the sleek black look. It is quieter than my old one. But my old whisk I could throw in the dishwasher. I don't understand why KitchenAid would go back to the dark ages and make a whisk that needs to be hand washed. In my opinion they ruined a perfect product. I will still recommend to a friend but will make sure they are willing to hand wash it. Someone must make a replacement part that can go in the dishwasher.

I have been married for 38 years, and never had a "good" mixer. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that I didn't think I would use that much. Now that I finally have one, I'm amazed how much more I cook and bake, how much easier it is to do a LOT of things that I would normally do by hand. I bought each of my 3 children one for Christmas, and they too love them! This mixer is easy to use, cleans easily, and looks great on the counter. Why did I wait so long??!!
