The first time I used it (despite washing the Bowl, mixer, and beater really well) my sugar cookie dough was grey streaked. I think it must have had some internal metal dust that came through the hole around where the beater attaches? Only thing i can figure. Either way I washed the bowl again and no more issues. Still figuring out the right speed and the right attachment for the right purpose, but loving it so far.

I love this mixer. My mom had one when I was growing up and I remember making our own hamburger with the meat grinder. I also remember her making cake batters and frostings and cookies. I finally have one of my own thanks to my mom and sister. The only negative thing I have to say is the paddle without the scraper on it is not very effective. My first accessory will be to but the paddle with the scrapper.
I purchased the Artisan after many years of hand mixing. I am enjoying quality and the beautiful apple green splash of design on my counter top. I am excited to bake a few times a week now!
Pros: Design, Performance, easy to use

With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming upon me and the thought of mixing and baking my husband's favorite Polish cookies I decided that I wanted a stand mixer. I have used a handheld mixer for most my married life. I bought a beautiful Expresso color Kitchen Aid Artisan Tilt Stand Mixer. It looks great in my kitchen. Better yet for the first time I did not stress over the mixing of the cookie batter......5 cups of flour, 8 oz of cream cheese and one pound of butter.....the mixer handled it all and the cookie dough was the best ever. I love it. After Thanksgiving we had lots of a Honey Baked Ham left so decided to buy the grinder and make my own ham salad. Loved that too. What took me so long...guess with being retired and having time to spend in the kitchen now I can enjoy cooking and baking. Can't wait to try a recipe from the booklet that came with the mixer. Works great, love the attachments and the beaters. I am very happy with my mixer.
