[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have waited many years to be able to get a Kitchenaid mixer and it finally happened! I can no longer knead bread dough or mix cookie dough as I used to be able and this is helping me be able to do those recipes once again!! I want to get the food chopper attachment and then I will be in kitchen heaven!

Many a generation of women in my family have owned and loved these Kitchenaid mixers. This is my second one...I loved my first one (4qt) so much that I decided to upgrade to the 5 qt Artisan series. Advice to new owners: make sure the bowl is securely in its groove before turning it on. There was crud in the groove so my bowl didn't lock on my old machine. Off warrantee and no one local would try to fix it, so my husband worked on it and managed to fix it, sort of. It would only work at high speeds so I got tired of cleaning up the mess. I waited to get a new one when there was a good sale. Voila, early Christmas for me and I already am in love. How did I manage for the year or more I was without the machine. My first recipe was so much better than when I made it with a food processor when I was without the mixer. Note below: I am not replacing another brand but the exact same machine and brand.
