I had researched the several sizes and makes of mixers; found for my needs the 5 quart was best. It is quiet and easy to use, I have not tried this under a heavy dough load but believe the secret is to not try to mix too large of an amount.
I would buy this again and suggest to others to buy. The only additional utensil that I feel necessary is a mixing paddle with the rubber edge to scrape the sides of the bowl

Problem with lock feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my mixer however, I don’t feel like the machine is locked properly. I would never walk away from my counter if I go beyond the first setting. It is unusual, but not worth shipping back.

We had Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for 10 years or more and finally gave up on us. We bought this to replace the old one which was starting to smoke and became very loud and shaky every time we use it. Not sure how long it supposed to last but for ten years or more of service, I think it's worth it.
