I recently had my 8 year old KitchenAid mixer to have major issues - wouldn't turn off unless I unplugged it, and then it wouldn't run at all. Rather than spend money to repair it, I gave it away hoping someone could fix it and use it. I then purchased the Artisan 5 quart tilt head stand mixer.

I bought this unit a couple of months ago, and I'm very glad that I did. In the past, I mixed my Bread recipes by hand. However, with the Stand Mixer, the bread making is considerably faster and with more constancy.
