It's a workhorse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second KA tilt-head mixer. When I bought the first one (30 years ago) I used it primarily for cake batter and cookie dough. When I started baking bread several times a week, it became apparent that I needed more horsepower. The larger motor in this one does the trick. It mixes everything I put in the bowl and the motor never sounds as if it's working very hard. I love this machine!

My husband bought me this as a Christmas gift. I LOVE the color. The size is perfect for me. I had the classic before and a few of my recipes that I make didn't fit.
My only issue I have found with this mixer is that the splash guard doesn't fit very securely and has a tendency to jump off track even from the light mix of the mixer.

Extremely heavy machine. Wish there were some way to slide it across counter without lifting it.
Also, doesn't quite get all the ingredients mixed in the bottom of the bowl.

For a long time I was researching a stand mixer or another handheld. Also, if it was functional and "looked good on the counter". If it is on display on the counter you use it more often. I had never owned a stand mixer and this is so much easier to use and stable. I have carpal tunnel in my right hand and sometime would put off making some recipe because you had to mix too long by hand. My Kitchen aid makes the job so much easier. I intend in the near future to purchase the pasta attachment. It was a great gift! A great addition to kitchen and its decor.
