I got this as a gift for my bridal shower and I love it. It's great for cakes, cookies, bread, and other baking. It's also wonderful for shredding chicken. I recently tried using the pasta attachment for egg noodles, and those were a hit too. Definitely get the paddle with a scraper... I don't have that yet, and using a rubber scraper in it is a little annoying.

Not my first kitchen aid mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Definitely the best mixer on the market unless you work in a professional kitchen and you can afford a Hobart. This is a well made mixer, the only concern I have it struggles while making bread dough and the motor boggs down a bit. It got the job done but definitely seems a little under powered. I have the Artisian model.
