I can't believe it took me so long to get this tool. So much easier than hand slicing fruit for pies and hand mixing and beating eggs, flour, etc for cakes. I love this machine!

My mom bought a kitchenaid mixer in the late 1970's and still uses it 40 years later. Unlike the fragile kitchenaid hand mixer and disposable blender, I found the stand mixer I just purchased to be what I was hoping it would be. A work horse.
Based on the reviews on YouTube, I bought the Artisan model. I have made 5 or six batches of Bread. The mixer does initial kneading with little complaint. I wish it could do the second kneading. But it just can't do it. The dough actually locks up the mixer. Nevertheless, it saves me from the painful process up front.
I still wonder if it's as tough as my mom's Kitchenaid. All of the accessories are very pricey. So I'm not sure if the convenience is worth it. We'll see. But when it comes the home basics, I'm pleased with it's performance.
Pros: It will knead bread. Cleans up nicely, and of course, the name alone raises my status among my peers.
Cons: The tilt up lock come unlocked while in operation. You can't turn your back on this thing if your making bread or cookies. The motor gets very warm with only 5 minutes of Kneading.
