This is my third KitchenAid mixer.. no, I didn't get rid of the other two, I just decided to buy a bright, shiny new one! The other two that I have are lift bowl types and I wanted a Tilt-Head style. Love it as I like lifting the head and scraping instead of lowering the bowl and working around the attachments.

I used to sell these to customers at a national chain store, so I knew all the features. But I had never gotten one for myself. I figured the little hand mixer I had was good enough. Now I wish I had gotten one a long time ago.
The fact that it is freestanding and I don't have to add things with one hand is such an obvious benefit, I don't know why it didn't occur to me before.
This mixer is so strong and well-built, and I'm well acquainted with KitchenAid's quality. Plus I know it will never be discontinued in favor of some newer model that makes mine obsolete. (Even if it did, I know this workhorse will keep on keeping on.)
So it was a quick way to make my brown sugar, it cleans up so fast and easy (one of the reasons I was dawdling about getting one). Whatever finish is on the beaters, I don't have any trouble cleaning them.
