This is my second KitchenAid mixer. My first one was 8 years old and had started leaking oil around the head. After shopping around, I decided to stick with the KitchenAid. It is a great mixer and I expect to get as many or more years of use from it.
The only issue I had was that the dough hook was left out; but one phone call took care of that quickly.

I bought the onyx stand mixer from Crate and Barrel over Christmas and am in love. It's beautiful on my countertop, it has a splash guard, multiple attachments and options for those to add in the future, etc... Absolutely love my mixer :)

I had my last one over 25 years and no problems, gave it to my son and he loves it. Got a red one to accent my kitchen, hope it lasts as long without problems too. Wonder why the change in the stainless steel mixer whip,can't put in dishwasher now cause it will get dull? Had no problem with old one, and much easier to just throw in dishwasher. Do think new splatter guard is an improvement, much easier to add ingredients to bowl.

Got this for Christmas and used it for the first time today. The coating on the paddle chipped as I was putting it on the mixer. I feel that more chips will happen every time i use it. Also, i washed the bowl with soap and water and dried it, however there was a silver film left on the bowl that got on the cookies I was baking. The batter picked up the silver coating from the bowl.

When i first used my mixer i felt like a child in a candy store , it blew me out of this world the possible things i can do with this mixer OMG. Great product will reccommend it to anyone.
