I just made a batch of my locally famous oatmeal walnut chocolate chip cookies. Could hardly believe how much easier with my kitchenaid mixer! Might lead to weight gain, though! Tome for my hand mixer to go to a thrift store. Only issue is l'm left handed, so the controls are awkward.

I had bought kitchenaid stand mixer and have been very satisfied so far. Great product esp for making breads.
I have had the mixer for two months just in time for holiday cooking and baking so it has been used a LOT in the past 2 months. I bought it to replace my 4.5QT mixer which was very old and the motor stopped working (essentially it would get stuck and not mix heavier doughs and batters). I can't complain about the 4.5QT because I worked well for decades but I find the 5QT mixer (while essentially the same as the 4QT only larger) has some real benefits over the smaller model.
Overall the mixer is good. It isn't that much larger than the 4.5 QT but the shape of the bowl makes the 5QT much better. Less stiff flies out, if you aren't using the pour shield and it seems to get the residual bottom and sides of food mixed in better than the 4.5QT. The lever for the various speeds is good. You can feel it lock into each speed which is an improvement over my old model where you knew you were in the correct place because the mixer would speed up or slow down, rather than feeling the lever click into place.
I went with the metal bowl because it was lighter than the glass one and for me easier to use and move around and clean, etc. I find it is good for whipping cream because a few minutes in the freezer cools the metal bowl down enough that cream whips up full and quickly.
It isn't really innovative in any way but realistically it didn't need to be. The traditional features all work well.
My one complaint is that when mixing heavier doughs or batters the motor seems to bog down a bit. Rather than being one consistent speed, it seems to go slower then quicker then slower even when the speed lever hasn't been moved. It hasn't affected the performance but it does make me wonder if the motor is more likely to stop working sooner rather than later.
Overall I highly recommend the product based on performance, choice of bowl type and the incredibly large range of fun colors it comes in.
Pros: works well for mixing whipping beating etc, Convenient Features, easy to use
I absolutely love this machine she does all the work so my hands are free to do other things. I use her for everything she is my best friend in the kitchen. My other appliances are jealous!!!!!!!!!!!
