I have used this mixer several times since we bought it. I like the speeds, and the ease of changing the different attachments. The only problem I had was when I made bread dough. The dough hook had trouble mixing the dough and it caused the whole top part of the mixer to bounce. I had the lock switch in the correct position, but the bouncing caused the switch to move to the unlock position. So just take note that if you plan to work with heavy dough, you will need to keep your hand on top of the mixer. Just in case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently purchased a Artisan Empire Red 5-QT mixer after retiring a 15 year old Classic 4.5QT KitchenAid mixer. Love the Mixer - use it almost every week to make bread, cakes, whip cream, grind meat for burgers or meatloaf. Looking forward to trying my had at making homemade paste. This is the only brand of mixer I will consider.
