[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time getting into baking cookies and found a recipe that required heavy duty mixing so I bought this machine. I couldn't be happier as it made light work of a difficult process.

I have never had a stand mixer before - I really didn't bake much . Then I started making my own bread and I needed a mixer with a dough hook. I looked at many cheaper models but decided Kitchen Aid was the way to go.

It is hard for me to knead dough to make kolaches or cinnamon rolls and this fits the bill exactly. It's so easy now.

bought a classic ultra back in 1995 (had more power than a standard classic) good mixer. lost it in a settlement. Just bought a new Artisan this xmas (again more power) . Doesn't seem the same,making heavy dough, the head seems to move around more than I remember, and it slows down when it gets thick...I don't think that KA builds them the same way. well that's progress. but it does do the job at hand. let's see how long this one lasts...By the way the old mixer that I mentioned found it's way to my daughter and is still going strong....

I had always had a Sunbeam & did not need a new mixer as the old one worked fine; however, I am so glad I purchased this. I cannot believe how much faster this mixer is when mixing. I also really like the stainless steel bowl with a handle, so handy.I am intending to buy the pasta roller in the near future. I also love the red color.
