I am a retired cook with over 36 years of experience both in the US Navy and after retirement with the San Diego County Sheriffs Department. I think I know what makes great mixer. The following are what makes this a great mixer;
1. Well built and sturdy to last for years if used according to directions/instructions.
2. Very little scraping involved due to attachments that are precisely fit to cover sides and bottom of mixing bowl.
3. Easy to operate for beginners, amateures and professionals alike.

I received this for a Christmas gift. I've wanted one for years, but thought my hand mixer would just have to do. I cook at home and back a lot. I really wish I would've gotten one sooner. I use it every week, if not every day. It is so much quieter than I expected. Right now I'm teaching my 9 year old to cook/bake, she likes it too.
