Stepping up to a real mixer

We were planning on making cookies for the holiday season, and decided to make the leap up to a quality mixer! Things we like, hands free operation, the bowl cover to minimize mess while adding ingredients, and the mixing power! Only one drawback, storage of the mixer!
Best thing in my kitchen. The day I got my mixer, I made three kinds of cookies holding a baby. It's like having a third arm. My 4yr old helps me and loves watching mom bake. I don't know how I baked without it. I love my Artison Kitchenaid. Mixer is built solid and looks awesome. I decided to paint my kitchen the same color as mixer. I love it and will recommend it to all...Beth
Love my Kitchen Aid stand mixer which I'd selected as an anniversary gift July 2015. It works like a dream - very quiet and easy to use. So happy to have selected the Metallic Chrome 5 Quart as the color complements my kitchen's color scheme. Because I have some arthritis and not much wrist strength, I wanted a bowl that was light and easy to handle and the stainless steel bowl for this machine fits the bill. I WAS attempted with getting the glass bowl as it was very attractive.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this as a gift from my wedding registry. This is something all "adults" must have in their kitchens, right? I love how pretty it is and that it can be used for so many different things. This mixer has inspired me to try new recipes and bake more often. Despite the horror stories my mom used to tell me about merengue, I made a perfect coconut merengue pie on my first try! I also had fun with homemade mayonnaise. I haven't tried the extra gadgets that we have yet (food grinder, sausage thingy) because that is at least one step past my cooking experience level.. I also want to get the pasta attachment, but I won't let myself until I try out the other gadgets first (the price is a bit much I think).
I do wish that it was easier to add ingredients without stopping and lifting the mixer out of the bowl- even with the plastic pouring shield, it can turn into a mess. But, for me, that's just a part of baking!
For small batches of cookies, I still mix by hand or with a smaller electric beater because this mixer can be a bit unwieldy and doesn't completely stir up small batches well. (I think there was a mini bowl option, but it doesn't fit with this model?) I might get the mixer with the spatula scraper attached to see if that helps. I just wish that it wasn't so expensive. (In my opinion, this should just come with the mixer instead of or with the regular mixing attachment).
I bake a lot either for home or as a side job and this new and larger mixer is just fantastic the larger bowl allows for doubling cake recipes with ease and still has plenty of room. I have had and still have a kitchen aide mixer for 23 years and I use it at least twice a week and still works perfectly was given this new one as gift by my daughter and I am confident will last.
