I bought this as a Christmas present to myself as my very old (30-40 years) stand mixer bit the dust. Wow! What a difference this new one makes. Love the orbital action of the mixers turning and not the bowl. Couldn't be happier. Beware though..this thing is heavy. I say that in a good way. It doesn't move on the counter but it takes some heft to put it away and get it out from a cabinet. I don't have countertop room to leave it out all the time so have to store it.

I've been waiting and waiting to get one. I found mine on clearance because the box was dented. I'm glad I waited. But I love my kitchen aide. I love making dough for home made pizzas!!!

This product is awesome, but it is missing one key feature. I had an old Hamilton Beach (like 1970's avocado green) mixer that was passed down from my mom and it had a swivel out arm. This was helpful for adding in ingredients such as flour. It would still be spinning, but you could slow it down and easily add.
Using the collar is an option, but isn't as easy.
Pros: easy to use, Performance
Cons: no swivel arm

I purchased this as a gift for my wife this past Christmas and she was absolutely thrilled. She always talked about wanting one in the future if we bought a new house and never expected to get one so soon. She has made most of the staples so far with it (brownies, cookies, etc.) and has loved the ease of use. It also acts as a great focal point of the kitchen and has a nice soft appeal in the pistachio color I purchased.
