This is the best mixer on the market, hands down. It is well made, and, as such, should last a lifetime! I bought this mixer to replace the exact same model that I bought 10 years ago. I use it 15-20 times per year, which is moderate use, at best, but the switch or motor stopped working properly, so I could no longer control the speed. Mixer only worked on high speed, regardless of setting. For the price, this mixer should have lasted longer.
Repair is impossible with Kitchen Aid. I did lots of research online about how to get my old mixer repaired, but everything I read said they got nowhere. I chose to save myself the trouble and just replace it.

I have had my Artisan for several weeks and have used it to make my famous cheesecake (with a hand mixer I am exhausted when mixing is finally done). This appliance makes it a cinch. Have used the food processor attachment and dicer -- both terrific. Have not used spiralizer yet. Only criticism is with splash guard -- which does not work very well.
