Great for gluten free

So far it has done a wonderful job dealing with gluten free doughs, and I feel like I get to know more about the process every time I use it. It has definitely motivated me to bake my own bread in lieu of the store bought stuff. I feel like this mixer is opening up my creativity, and I look forward to a long and beneficial partnership. I am really glad that I chose to take the plunge into gluten free baking now that I have this fine machine!!

I have always wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer, and I was lucky enough to receive a 5-qt Artisan model for my birthday this year. So, so worth it! Not only does the KitchenAid do exactly what everyone's raved about for years, it takes up much less space than I expected and is a wonderful addition to my kitchen. In just a week, I've made cake, frosting, two kinds of bread... my biggest challenge is finding ways to use it regularly! I'm also incredibly impressed with how easy every part cleans up. It makes my baking projects a breeze and I look so forward to all of the yummy things I'll be making in the years to come.

Great addition to my kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first stand mixer, and I am continually finding new ways to use it, especially in combination with the Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder attachment I purchased separately. I have made delicious coleslaw, cheesecake, meatloaf, scones, and the list goes on. The slider mat I purchased separately helps me to move it across my counter easily when I'm ready to use it. I am very happy I purchased my new KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer.

Not up to par

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this mixer expecting the best in mixers and was disapointed. The 6-wire whip and flat beater blades are hard to attach to the mixer. It seems like the holes in the blades are a bit to small for the dimisions of the shaft it connects too. Resulting in me forcing it on after many attempts. Greasing the shaft does not seem to help. The dough hook attaches with no issues. Also, the locking mechinism switch that keeps the mixer from lifting up does not slide all the way over, so the switch will not stay in place and after a bit, the locking switch will vibrate over the unlock position allowing the mixer head to start to lift up and down when mixing. I have owned a KitchenAid Mixer before and really liked it, but this one let me down. Not same quality as my older KitchenAid mixer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
