I grew up baking in my parents home with a KitchenAid mixer. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas (with a few various occasions prior to the holidays), our mixer would definitely get its workout. The best thing about it, it's that it never failed. I grew up with that mixer, moved out of the house and started a life of my own, and to this very day that standing mixer my parents own is still up and running.
I vowed to myself that when I got married and started a family of my own, I would get my own KitchenAid mixer. I got the mixer as a wedding gift and I wouldn't trade it in for anything. I know my KitchenAid Standing Mixer will last me for years to come, just as it has my parents.

I received a KitchenAid mixer for a wedding gift in 1978. I've used it over the years with wild abandon. I made bread, I whipped egg whites and potatoes, etc. I loved it !!! Then, in 2016, it just stopped one day. I couldn't find anyone to repair it. Being so used to having it on hand, I bought a new one to use till my old one was fixed. Wow, What a difference. The new one is a beautiful color, but my praise stops there. It is lightweight and seems to struggle on things that my old one just wizzed through. Not only that, the pouring shield for the bowl doesn't work well. Also, it would have been nice to be able to use my old components, i. e. bowl, blades and pouring shield.

I bought my first kitchenaid mixer and absolutely love it. I have never had a stand mixer before and would not part with this one. I make homemade bread, cakes, cookies, etc. would recommend this to anyone.

I purchased this for myself before the holiday baking season. I am very happy with it. I look forward to using it for many years. The mixer is very heavy, so find a place on your countertop. It's not easy to lift or slide around, unless you have strong arms. I have only had it for a month and so far I am pleased. I hope to give it a higher rating after I have used it more and if/ when I have experienced customer service.

After 32 years of using a food processor that was a wedding gift, it was time for a new one, and only the KitchenAid would do. I was surprised how much quicker it mixed dough, clean up is easy, and the attachments are easy to to add or remove.
