I worked as a cook's assistant at a lodge and we had a 4.5 quart KitchenAid stand mixer. When the venue was sold the cook gave me the mixer. With it, I went from some one who liked to bake to someone who could bake. I regularly brought in baked goods to my "other" job (teacher). These baked goods were met with rave reviews by all. When complimented on my baking I gave all the credit to my stand mixer. Subsequently, I gave the 4.5 to my daughter and bought myself a 5 quart model. Great product!

I really love my KitchenAid mixer. It is very attractive, easy to operate, smooth and quiet. I have waited 20 years to purchase one, and I am pleased with it's overall performance and looks.
There are a few things I am a little disappointed in. The bowl can be a bit easy to tip over when not locked into position, and the attachments are somewhat pricy. I wish the paddle came with the scraper edge, instead of having to purchase it separately since you cannot scrape with the mixer turned on (am seriously considering purchasing the scraper paddle, but am waiting due to cost). The pouring chute doesn't lock on, and can be knocked out of line easily.
Otherwise, I am very satisfied with this product. It makes great mashed potatoes.

I have never owned a kitchenaid mixer in my 25 years of being married. I finally purchased one last Christmas and regret not doing it sooner. It is ver easy to clean and makes quick work of mixing dough/batter and makes fluffy mashed potatoes, too!

Not an award winning review. Just a great product which fits my needs perfectly.
The mixing technique, as compared to traditional beaters, does a more thorough job when mixing sausage ingredients. Also the dough hook makes making some bread doughs a piece of cake. No pun intended.
