Why did I wait so long?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Kitchen Aid mixer as a Christmas gift that I begged and pleaded for from my husband. It was only after a coworker told me about how much she loved her mixer, how effortless it was to use and that it was far beyond any mixer ever made. I love baking and had recently struggled to make several dozen cookies for an upcoming cookie exchange so I was beyond consoling after learning all the wonderful things I could do with a KitchenAid. I had to have one! I couldn’t wait to use it was the best gift my husband
could if ever bought me! I shared my excitement with
everyone and declared to them all that my hand mixer
has a new home.... the trash. All those years that I struggled to make treats for my family I could of made my life so much easier.... Why did I wait so long?

I absolutely love this mixer. I have wanted one for years and my mother in law got me one for Christmas this year (2016). It makes everything about baking and cooking for 3 sons and my husband super quick and easy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this mixer for a week now. I had a KA stand mixer for the last 23 years. It was also a 5-quart mixer. Things I noticed: The cord on the New Artisan mixer is 1/2 the diameter of my older mixer. The Artisan also weighs nearly 7 lbs. less than my K5SS mixer. The paddle attachments are much smaller on the Artisan mixer. AND Most of all, the SS bowl on the Artisan mixer had a terrible coating that I fought to remove. I used lemon juice and salt, I used Barkeepers Friend, I used a 3m Magic Eraser and FINALLY got it off.
The Artisan mixer with the Flex-Edge beater is heavenly. I could never find a Flex-Edge beater for my previous K5SS mixer. It's nice to not have to stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl anymore.
Would I recommend the mixer? Yes, it's great for normal mixing. I would be leery of kneading bread dough in it as that is taxing on the tilt-head locking mechanism. All in all, once I solved the film on the bowl, the mixer is working great.
