A couple months after receiving my Artisan Stand Mixer, I started cooking for my first grandchild's birthday party. My daughter and I made dozens of cupcakes, truffles, and cake pops for the party, all from scratch, and they got rave reviews at the party. I know we had great recipes, but having the 5 quart mixer made it such a cinch to whip up these items for the party. LOVE my new mixer!
Plus, I think the beautiful blue color I got was so pretty, I leave my mixer sitting out on my kitchen counter!

The Artisan is a solid mixer for general purposes. After spending some time with it, I decided to exchange it for the Professional 600 since I make a lot of bread. The Professional 600 is more powerful for kneading dough. The Artisan is a good all-around product but I prefer the added power and capacity of the Professional 600.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not a big baker but when I do, it’s very time consuming and, my hands ache afterwards. I do a lot of cooking and have always dreamed of getting a KitchenAid...why I waited until I was 56 I’ll never understand. “Charlotte” truly is an Aid in my Kitchen! I cannot wait to buy attachments. If you can find a way to get one of Your own, do it...don’t wait a lifetime like I did.

I have been dying for one of these. I received it for my birthday and love it. My 14 year old daughter thinks it is hers because she uses it more for her cupcakes.
One problem I had, which was our fault, and I thought I would share was the paddle beater was stuck on the machine. We couldn't figure it out and finally Googled it. It seems the paddle was put back on after hand washing while wet inside and there must have been a little batter inside and it was nearly glued on. We tried forever to get it off. Finally I read to take a very hot we towel and wrap around it, IT WORKED.
One problem I had, which was our fault, and I thought I would share was the paddle beater was stuck on the machine. We couldn't figure it out and finally Googled it. It seems the paddle was put back on after hand washing while wet inside and there must have been a little batter inside and it was nearly glued on. We tried forever to get it off. I will never do that again, and I hope this helps someone to never do it in the first place.
