I bought this mixer to help with my baking needs. It is a lot faster and kneads my bread dough on speed 2. I would highly recommend this mixer if you do alot of baking.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This mixer is awesome. So easy to use and clean. I have made lots of desserts and can not wait to make something for dinner. I have gone dessert crazy.... all the guys at works love the treats.
I had my original Kitchenaid mixer for years. The motor finally went so I invested in a new one. I read the directions carefully and cleaned the new bowl and beater with warm soapy water -- they did not go in the dishwasher. While making a first batch of cookies, I noticed black grease throughout the batter. After realizing that it was coming from the bowl, I dumped it out, washed everything several times, then started again. After ruining 3 batches of cookie batter, I gave up on ever being able to get rid of the black grease. My old bowl and beater are stainless steel. These new ones are powder-coated or something and they are cheap. Fortunately I had not thrown away my old bowl and beater and have been using those on the new machine for about a year. But now my original beater just broke and I'm so bummed. I would buy a new beater if I knew it would be of great quality. I don't need another junky one.

Took a while to save for this great kitchen appliance, but sooooo worth it! Makes me want to try new foods just so I can play with my new toy and see what it can do! Great for those who are new to baking, because it gives you a reason to try that cake you never thought you could make! (Came out delicious by the way, and I made my own frosting!!) Thank you for the guide that came with my KitchenAid, that was very helpful too!

I bought the 5 quart Artisan for myself for Christmas. I haven't yet put it through its paces yet but have very much liked it for cookie dough and banana bread. The only reason it's not five stars is the limited access to the bowl. The plastic pouring shield isn't useful because it's not wide enough and sits so loosely on the edge of the bowl that it can get knocked off very easily. I bought a nice wide stainless non-KitchenAid pouring shoot which secures nicely to the rim of the bowl. It's not a 'shield' because it doesn't go all the way around the bowl which is better than the plastic one that comes with the KitchenAid making the rest of the bowl open and accessible for scraping, etc. The bottom line, though, is that I do like this mixer!
