This is my 4th Kitchen Aid Mixer. I have given two previous mixers to my children when they set up housekeeping. I requested, and received a 6 quart Kitchen Aid Bowl Lift for this past Christmas. I just purchased another 5 quart (others I gave away). the 6 quart is wonderful for big amounts of mixing, and the 5 quart is better for 1/2 makings or smaller amounts of ingredients. I would not even consider buying another brand of mixer for myself or for a gift. By the way, I have a Kitchen Aid hand mixer...you can tell I trust my Kitchen Aid mixers for every thing I need in a mixer.
