I received this as a Christmas gift.....had been wishing for one, and Santa finally came though! I've used it twice - after the first time I had to adjust the head so that it didn't jump around when locked and in use. That was easy to fix, and last night when I made a King Cake it seemed to be fine. I'm looking forward to getting some attachments and using it even more!

In regards to purchasing new kitchen appliances small or large, I always first look to see what Kitchenaid has to offer even though I was admittedly a little timid based on the price. Year after year the tilt-stand mixer range always reigns supreme on my list of most wanted items, and although it's a more pricey kitchen appliance it has far surpassed my expectations with its ease of use and ability to multi-task which makes some recipes better in my opinion. I've had several hand mixers, and variations of this product but this one takes the cake, (and makes it too), on all levels. Pizza crusts for Friday night movies. Brownies. Anything involving the weight of stiffened peanut butter for my favorite candy recipe. My Kitchenaid handles it! I finally have my own, and if this mixer is any testament to the longevity of other Kitchenaid products, then I'll be switching exclusively. It's hands down, worth it.

In 1969 my grandfather gave me a kitchen aid mixer as a wedding gift. It's served me for over 35 years. Of course it finally gave out but it was my pride and joy. I waited along time for a new one but finally received one as a Xmas gift this past year! It is AWESOME!

For years I used a mixer passed on to me by my Mom. At times it was frustrating trying to get the beaters in the right place. After all, this mixer was over 60 years old. Now with my new Kitchenaid mixer I love working with it.

Not as good as older models

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned a kitchenAid tilt-head stand mixer for years. I got the new one because I wanted a new color and gave my 6 year old one to my daughter. I wish I hadn't.
The new one looks great but is much noisier and doesn't seem as sturdy. I also miss having the spring for putting on the blades. This one just doesn't have the same feel.
