My first stand mixer ever at 50 years old

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never been one to cook and the joke in my family was I brought expired food to family gatherings. When I met my husband of 5 years, he loved to cook and now we both share in that joy. We've been talking about a stand mixer and while I was still comfortable with my hand held, I was a little reluctant cause it felt intimidating to me. We watched You tube videos on different recipes and the idea of purchasing attachments (meat grinder, juicer, pasta maker, etc) got us excited to make amazing dishes.
In the end, we did use our mixer for the first time to make banana bread, which I've done a bunch of times with the handheld. However, nothing compares to the ease of this jewel of an appliance. It's almost as if it had a mind of its own.
This is one of my favorite purchases and the only regret was not to buy one sooner.
I highly recommend

I previously owned a kitchen aid mixer for over 25 yrs. it served me well and worked hard during the Christmas season. I would make 6-7 batchs of gingerbread cookies which take 6 -7 cups of flour. The kitchenaid tackled it without a problem. It finally gave out after all these years but a friend of mine still uses it for lighter weight baking/cooking and is totally thrilled. The new one purchased doesn't seem to have the same umph and a bit disappointed. Hoping Kitchenaid or the place purchased can help out with a replacement.

This is my third Kitchenaid mixer. My mother got my first one at a garage sale. My second one I bought from a friend. It was still in the box for 10 years. It had motor issues and Kitchenaid fixed it free of charge even after I admitted how old it was. I have given it to one of our girls and I know she will get years of service from it. My new one is just because. I am now saving to get all the attachments for it. I love the service I got from Kitchenaid and I would tell everyone I know to get one.
