Poor design for the plastic turbo drive shaft part

Not build for lasting usage. There is a part of plastic gear to pass the drive from engine to mixer. Hard to believe to use plastic coupled with metal gear. Not recommended

Poor quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a replacement for one I had purchased 5 months ago. It took 3 months to get it and then after 17 days it starts making a edger type noise and smells like smoke. They have to replace it again and they are not sure how long it will take since they are not in stock. My first kitchenAid lasted 35 years.

Buyer Beware
on February 17, 2020

I had my original Kitchen Aid mixer for 23 years and loved it. It was the workhorse of my kitchen. I replaced it about a year ago with the Kitchen Aid Artisan, and the decline in the quality was evident from the moment I took it out of the box. The arm is not stable, but rattles even in the locked position. I used to be able to walk away and prep food while the mixer did its thing. No more. I have to stand right next to it -- especially when doing dough -- to hold the arm steady and be ready to turn it off when the bowl eventually becomes unlocked. Kitchen Aid - what happened? This mixer won't last anywhere near as long as my other, and I won't be replacing it with another Kitchen Aid. Also currently in the market for a new oven, and won't even consider looking at Kitchen Aid after this experience. If you are replacing your old Kitchen Aid mixer, beware..........

The noise of the gears sound bad from the start.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You sent this as a replacement for the first mixer that just stopped working, this one sounds terrible.
I have heard so many good things about this mixer and also my mom has the classic one which is 20 years and still works great. For some reason I am not getting quality mixers I exchanged mine four times before settling on the one I kept. All of them rattle and shake at head of the mixer. Not matter how much I tighten the screw it's still shakes up and down when mixing dough. The one I kept is a little better but still shakes when I mix dough. Also I have to keep tightening it when I use it. But other than the shaking it does mix well. I would think for the price of these mixers they would be better quality. Certainly not the quality from 20yrs ago.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Leaking Oil!
on March 21, 2021

I ordered on 12-16-2020. We have used it for two birthdays. Today is the second birthday. I went in the kitchen to watch wife mixing the icing for the birthday cake. I saw a green, tear shaped drop sliding down the side of the mixing bowl that came with the mixer. I immediately realized what it was and quickly turn the power off. I used my finger to see what it was for sure. And that's exactly was it was "Green Oil" I used a paper towel to wipe it from the bowel and the n the mixer shaft. That's where it is coming from. Plus the whole orbital head is very loose. What the heck! We have seriously worried about the first cake we made and did not notice this happening. Why on earth would we even think such a thing would happen anyway! My wife completely fell in love with this mixer too. You should have seen the horror and total shock and disappointment in her face! I will surely contact KichenAid Monday morning ASAP.
I have had this machine several months and used it a lot for holiday cooking. Initially the beater was hinting the sides. I read the instructions for trouble shooting this problem and adjusted the screw. Well it never seemed right. For Christmas I received the glass bowl which I thought was universal for this model. But I can't seem to get it adjusted. I have gone from the most tighten to the most loose adjust a little bit each time. but still it seems the bowl is sitting in the wrong spot.. I had my last one for 10 years and never had issues. I have since had the old kitchen repaired and it works wonderful. Can't say the same for the newer one.
