I love the Kitchenaid (Artisan). I've used it several times since we received it for our Holiday cooking and baking and it has performed flawlessly. The only thing that I do not like is the plastic guard that fits on top of the bowl (hence, the 4 star rating). It is supposed to help make it easier to add ingredients but I find it to be cumbersome. It comes loose from the bowl too easily and gets in the way more then helps. I've now put the thing in a cupboard that I rarely use to keep it out of the way. Other than that, I love the machine and it's beautiful as well.

I received this mixer as a birthday present and it is amazing. I wish the whisk & the paddle were a little longer so that when I make icing I don't have to stop much & scrap sides down.

I have had my mixer for a couple months. I used it a few days before Thanksgiving. As I mixed cake batter ingredients for a crust and patted it in a pan, there were dark metallic tasting globs all over. I called customer service and was told I needed to pre-treat with olive oil and barkeepers friend. Nothing in the manual stated this. I had to throw it out and start over.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Artisan Series 5 mixer for my wife for Christmas. She has never owned one. She absolutely loves it! It is fast, quiet, and efficient. Oh, and it looks great on the counter! Thank you Kitchaid!!!
