This was a gift from my sister for my 60th birthday. I can't believe I've waited so long to own a kitchen aid mixer. I love the neutral chrome color in my kitchen and the results of the baked goods have been fabulous. It is very convenient and easy to use!

Just have the time to try this unit out, for the *first* time, and the plastic or powder coat on the dough hook is pealing off. I'm fairly sure that this stuff is not good to the human body. Why would you put a coating like that on a "sticky" dough hook? Very unhappy given the $450+ we spent on this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My aunt got her first Kitchenaid mixer in 1940 - it had a tin bowl <:) My mother always had a Kichenaid mixer. This is my second Kitchenaid mixer - I upgraded in 2009. It has not disappointed. I really love the ability to make bread with the dough hook attachment. I did invest in the beater with the rubber scarper on it - it saves time and a step or two. Really good mixer.
