[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter bought the red KitchenAid 5 quart mixer for me for Christmas because she heard me talking about how beautiful it was. I have a 30-year old almond color mixer that still works great, but I keep it in the cupboard of my newly remodeled kitchen. The red mixer is staying on my countertop and looks and works beautifully! My 4-year old granddaughter and I made three batches of cookies the day after I received it.

Replacement for 20+ yr Kitchenaid Mixer

I just bought this and used it to make 3 batches of buttercream icing. I had a 6 qt model with the bowl lift for 20+ years. I loaded the bowl with ingredients to make icing and it wouldn't mix at all......had to run out and get a replacement immediately because I was making a half sheet cake for my granddaughter's birthday party that was the next day. I wanted to get the 6 qt but stores in my area did not have it in stock. I like the tilt head and hope it performs as well as my previous one. I didn't even consider another brand!

I purchased this mixer to replace my Kitchenaid bowl-lift mixer, which I found cumbersome and difficult to use. I much prefer the tilt mixer, although I miss the 6-quart capacity of the lift mixer. I highly recommend the scraping beater attachment (had it for the old mixer, muss that, too!) Overall, this may be the best mixer you'll ever have and it will last a very long time.
