Great mixer for icing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great mixer, speed lever is kinda stiff to move. But it works very well for making icing. But don’t try to make cream candy. The motor is just not strong enough.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mom had one of these mixers a few years ago which my nephew got when she passed away. I remember her using it and how much she loved it.
I had to get another one just like it.
The house and kitchen just aren't the same without mom and the kitchen the way she had it.
Oh yeah, and this thing ROCKS !!!
I LOVE the way it makes fixing things so easy.
I know why she loved it so much too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love my kitchenaide stand mixer. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 was it went wonky and had to be replaced. I got the replacement quickly and hassle free. I'll let you know how thos one is after a year. Love it.

Great for dough of any kind

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is really good at combing dough into a homogeneous mix. I didn't even need to scrape down the sides for most of the doughs. This was more necessary for any batters, where more flour stayed on the bottom and sides of the bowl. The rotating bit did leak a green oil, whiche I assume is grease used for smooth joints, which was a bit startling.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Time Will Tell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I waited and wanted all my life to get a stand mixer. Finally at 83, with stiff cookie batters getting harder and harder to stir, I splurged. I’ve had it a week and used it 3 times, so bearing in mind that there is no doubt a learning curve, this is my opinion so far: it is very heavy and cumbersome; the beater doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl so scraping the sides must be done much more often than when using a hand mixer, and to do that takes several steps including tilting the head back and even removing the bowl in order to avoid getting batter on your hand....much more time-consuming and hassle than using a hand mixer. I have already thrown away the clear plastic thing that came with it that is supposed to aid in adding ingredients, as it slips around and seemed totally useless, at least for me. On the positive side, it appears to be absolutely top quality - sturdy and beautiful - and my daughter (who says she uses hers at least twice a week) assures me that when I use it for bread dough I will love it. I may revise my review in 6 months or so - time will tell.
