I received the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for Christmas from my wife. I am extremely satisfied with it's operation. There is one item which needs Kitchen Aid's attention and that is the "Shield" which is used to add ingredients. It is made of plastic and does not fit on the stainless steel bowl correctly. Maybe it needs to be re-engineered to fit more tightly. Unfortunately the only way it can be used is to secure the "shield" to the bowl with some kind of tape such as "painters tape".
