This is the first present I received from my wedding registry and could not be more excited! The ease at which it made butter cream frosting had me thinking "how did I wait this long to get this"! I made buttermilk biscuits, sugar cookies, and a delicious blueberry cornbread all in one afternoon! Sounds like quite the feat but was so simple thanks to the help of the Kitchenaid and all it's attachments!

I received the Artisan Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer just before the Christmas holidays as one of the gifts from my wedding registry. I'm so glad that I registered for this product! Not only does it fit nicely on my counter when in use, it is the perfect size to store (show off!) on the top of my kitchen cabinets. The Empire Red color is definitely an eye catcher, and I've already gotten lots of questions about it from friends.
Since I received this just before Christmas, what better way to put it to the test than by baking Christmas cookies? This mixer definitely held up throughout my weekend-long baking marathon. The whisk is perfect for whipping up meringue or other delicate mixtures, but it's sturdy enough to handle thicker dough as well. The paddle beater is great for thick and heavy batters - it powered through everything I threw at it. Haven't used the dough hook yet, but I know a couple family recipes that could use some dusting off.
The mixer is heavy enough that it will not move once you begin to use it; the rubber feet on the bottom of the mixer do make it a little difficult to maneuver without picking the machine back up. However, I do not feel that the mixer is so heavy as to be unwieldy.
