I get amazing results with my KitchenAid Artisan mixer! It's my best friend when I prepare any recipe using it! The included 6-Wire Whisk attachment beats my egg whites to fluffy perfection! Coated Dough Hook amazing for kneading my homemade bread. Today I used the Coated Flat Beater. I made a Strawberry pie and it gently folded the fresh strawberries into the batter without making them mushy. Controlling the speed is simple. This machine makes baking quick, easy and fun! Easy to clean too! Love Love Love my Mixer!
The Mixer works great. Features are very functional and feel confident that the product will last! However, we were very disappointed with the first use. I washed the bowl, like I would for any new dishware but, I had to trow away the 1st batch of mix because of a heavy gray residue that was in the mix! Reading your website apparently this is a very common problem and the recommended solution is to wash the bowl in a mixture of lemon juice and salt, or baking soda paste. We had to clean the bowl several times before we were satisfied with the results. According to your WEBsite the residue is not harmful. I recommend that you feed it to your family. This is a highly regarded product and I would expect that this residue would be removed at the factory by a commercial washing.

My planetary head cracked the first day of unboxing

I ordered this item over a month ago and only used it a handful of times, the first machine squeaked loudly and overheated quickly so I asked for a replacement, the day I unbox and begin using the replacement the area that rotates cracks and deposits metal shavings into my dough. I was making bread dough, to clarify, I wasn't trying to beat rocks or molasses, it was very light bread dough. I thought this brand was supposed to be solid and these machines have a reputation of being tough, but nope, I got handed two defective machines back to back, what are the odds.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this product is amaizing, I love it so much. Is my favorite tool in my kitchen, because is easy to use and clean. I prepare many desserts with this item and is awesome. for me, if a product have the kitchen aid brand it means quality
Pros: Innovative, Performance, easy to use, Design
We received this as a wedding gift last October. When we opened it up we were disappointed to see that the white paint was scratched down to the bare metal in multiple spots. We have since returned and re-ordered this mixer FOUR times, with scratches, dents or defects on every device. Sadly, we settled for one that still has a scratch down to the metal and plan to buy white appliance paint to try to at least prevent the spot from rusting. For such an expensive mixer we are extremely disappointed that we ever registered for it. It works great, but not worth the hassle to still end up with one with defects.

Kitchenaid needs to improve quality control. The mixing bowl had a silver residue which came off on the frosting I was making. Customer service rep instructed me to wash the bowl with a lemon juice and salt mixture to remove the residue. However 1 or 2 washing didn't do it. I scrubbed that bowl 8-10 times with lemon juice and salt, then a baking soda paste, and then vinegar before all the residue came off. I ruined several batches of frosting. It was extremely frustrating since I had bought the mixer to use immediately as I was hosting a party! Such an expensive appliance should be better inspected!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

First time using it was to make pate a choux. I turned to low for 5 seconds then shut off.......3 minutes later I did the same....3rd time it don't shut off and I no longer can turn the speed up or down.....I used it for all of 15 seconds before it broke.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
