[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works fine I think, but makes a weird grinding noise. They are shipping a replacement but it takes a month or two to arrive
Purchasing the KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer was one of the best decisions I've made concerning appliances. It is easy to use, and cute prep time in half. In my opinion this was money well spent.....I absolutely love it and would recommend it to everyone.
Pros: Performance, Innovative, Convenient Features, easy to use, Design
I bought my mom one of these mixers about ten years ago and she has been loving it ever since. She recently returned the favor to me and now I am loving it. I can mix anything in this mixer: cookies, bread, cakes, mashed potatoes. It is very easy to use, easy to clean. I don't have a bad thing to say about the mixer. I just wish I had a better place to keep it because I have to slide it out from underneath my cabinets every time I want to use it in order to be able to tilt the head. If you have an island counter without cabinets above it, you won't have this problem. Kitchenaid is a great name with great products. I love that they haven't cheapened their products over the years like some other manufacturers.
Pros: Convenient Features, easy to use, Performance
I have used the mixer a few times now and it's basically what I expected it to be. I was however surprised and inconvenienced by the grey residue that ended up on my cookies the first time I used the mixer. I followed the instructions regarding washing the bowl before first use but had to throw away some of my sugar cookie batter because I didn't want to have aluminum residue on my cookies. I read about this online and it seems to be a common problem with the aluminum bowl. What I read instructed me to wash with a baking soda mixture or lemon juice and salt to remove this residue. I didn't notice the grey color on the most recent batter I made so I think it did the trick. I didnt mind having to wash it with the solution but would have preferred that be in the "Before first use" instructions. Otherwise it's a good mixer and looks good on my countertop as well :) I have only used the flat beater so far.
With the little baking I do, never thought I would ever own one of these. I am however, so happy I purchased it and love the color. My girls can't stop baking and the mess is minimal. Great opportunity to have fun together and create some great memories.
I'm very happy with this product! I purchased the Artisan mixer plus the grinder attachments after my husband and I shot our deer this hunting season so we could process our own venison. Works great! It does heat up after using it for a long time (any product/device would do this). But it didn't affect the mixer at all. Very easy to use when baking cookies! Wishing I had purchased one sooner :)
