I got my mixer for christmas last year and just love it. I just bought the spiralizer, 01/15/2018. I have not used it yet but planning to soon, very soon. I recommend this product 100 percent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my last multi appliance died after 23 years i was lost and restarted die a replacemen. I decided on this mixer and am so far very happy with it. I love making ice cream with it and it works great for beating and mixing all kinds of food. I still need to learn more about is features, hopefully during Xmas baking, before i can give it five stars 🙂👍

Very disappointed with performance

I bought this Artisan® Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer via Everything Kitchens about 3 months ago on November 26, 2016 for my wife who loves to bake. We were very excited to use it, since this is our first KitchenAid mixer ever. We used it in late December to make tiramisu and to make cookies and it worked fine. Today (February 11, 2017) we used it to make dough for bread (used 3 cups of flour for our recipes) and the bowl did not stay locked in place. So I thought maybe my wife did not lock the bowl in place all the way. But I found out that if I try to lock the bowl in place it will not lock but it will go loose and come out of the other side of the lock base. After we put the ingredients in and turned the mixer on, it started off okay, but then the bowl would begin to jump and get out of the lock. It seem to me that no one inspected this mixer and that the bowl base was not made correctly to fit the lock base. This machine did not meet my expectation and I am very disappointed with this KitchenAid Mixer. I will be asking KitchenAid for a replacement on Monday.

So Disappointed!

I had a 4 1/2 qt. Kitchenaid mixer that served me well for many years. When it came time to replace it, I decided to go with a 5 qt. Artisan. I am so, so disappointed with it!. I never had an issue when mixing bread dough in my old mixer, but this new one practically comes to a standstill when the dough gets a little heavy. With my first Kitchenaid mixer, I always knew when enough flour was incorporated into the dough, but the new mixer does not mix it in well enough so I have to end up mixing the last cup or so by hand which defeats the whole purpose of having this larger mixer. It appears the quality of these newer mixers has dropped considerably.

Make sure you scrub the bowl before using

I just bought it this weekend and rinsed out the bowl, with soap but did not scrub before use. I decided to go ahead with a double cookie batch since the bowl is so big. What a mistake!! My batter was black with dirt from the bowl! See pictures. I did go ahead and SCRUB the bowl after this and the second batch came out fine. What a waste of butter, cream cheese and flour. So far the mixing action is okay, but I'm pretty sour over the initial use.

VERY Messy disappointment

I was excited when I first received this mixer for Christmas 2017, since I love to bake. Sadly, I've found that unless I hand fold any and ALL dry ingredients under liquids and/or already moistened ingredients, the dry ingredients fly everywhere, even at the lowest speed, and even with all of the various mixing attachments. Same happens when adding additional wet ingredients -- must hand fold them under other ingredients, else everything flies everywhere! This mixer makes all of my baking projects take much longer to complete, due to having to hand fold in all ingredients. I never had to do that with my old Oster stand mixer. I considered purchasing the shield, until I read the many POOR reviews and that it only 'kind of fits' on the metal bowls and usually flies off.
I would like my new stand mixer to be functional, rather than just pretty for display. Perhaps KitchenAid would consider designing a shield that actually works, fits, and stays put on both the glass and metal bowls...? OR providing a LOWER Low speed, that will actually GENTLY stir ingredients. I highly doubt that this product design was ever properly tested.
