I finally purchased Artisian Series 5-quart mixer because I "always" wanted this mixer. With my purchase, I received a free grinder attachment. I decided to try my new mixer by grinding pork to make sausage. It was my first time ever doing this but because I am trying to be more health conscious this is one of the changes I decided to make. Low sodium sausage with ingredients I recognize. It was so easy I was amazed. I sent pictures of the process to everyone. The sausage came out "Great". I was shocked and proud of my end product. I was so happy I enrolled for a class to make a variety of different types of sausages. I every purchased the sausage stuffer! Perhaps this will lead to a business on the side for me!!!! Clair's Natural Sausages & Franks! Love it...love it.... love it.

Returning, again

I actually purchased two of these mixers this year. The first one was purchased in the spring of 2016 and returned after it left a gray chunks inside my cake batter. After educating myself on this website about the suggested methods of cleaning the bowl, I was ready to try again at Christmas. I purchased my second mixer just before the holidays so that I could bake for my friends and family. Unfortunately, after carefully following all recommended cleaning techniques repeatedly, the bowl still has a film that comes off black or gray on white paper towels. I haven't even plugged the mixer in yet, so this model will also be returned. I will be pursuing the purchase of another brand from this point forward. Nothing is normal or harmless about a kitchen product that leaves residue in your food.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This mixer gave out on me in November 2016. I have owned it for approximately 5 years. I have never "overtaxed" my machine. I have never made bread. Minimal basic use. First, the head would bounce up and down when mixing. It to the point where I tried to get it to an authorized repair company (who no longer service KitchenAids) with no luck. I had it sitting on the counter for a few days and on a whim plugged it in. It no longer turns on!!!! Don't even get me started about the newest one I just bought and already took back for an exachange. I'm leery about this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

At this point I am not sure I would recommend this product. I do a lot of baking and was very excited to
purchase this mixer. The firs problem was that It left black on my dough. When I asked customer service
what was going on, They told me that it was the oil that for the machine??? It was harmless??? However
I do not want black oil on my food. 1st for health reasons, how do they know it is harmless. 2nd appearance of food. White dough should be WHITE not marble. Then they lost or ??? a receipt so I did not get the rebate items I should have and now have to resend.
