Love my Artisan stand mixer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always wanted one and just retired and moved to my cabin in North Carolina and treated myself for my 62nd birthday! It’s better than I thought, so easy to use and clean. I made four ingredient Artisan bread as a start and it was amazing!

My first KitchenAid mixer, Tangerine Pro Series 6 quart, was 14 years old and finally quit after replacing a plastic gear twice. My cranberry Artisan 5qt tilt-head stand mixer is less than 3 years old. Today after mixing my last holiday cookie recipe, the mixer started smoking. After immediately shutting it off, and unplugging the unit, I blew in every orifice to insure there was no fire. No odor and the housing was just warm from normal use. My fear is that the wiring insulation is melted and the unit is not safe to use. I only use the mixer once or twice a month to bake care bear packages for my military son. The mixer should last longer than 3 years of little use. The cost of repair may warrant just a new mixer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mixer to start using for my baking business. And I must say I love the fact that it very easy to use and comes with the pouring shield, which helps avoid mess. The construction of the mixer is very impressive. My suggestion to anyone who purchase this mixer is not to over work it, to avoid damages to the mixer. And my suggestion to Kitchenaid is increase warranty on all they products from 1 year to two years.
