I waited for years to purchase this item I just couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money when I could simply use a hand mixer. Wow, have I been missing out and I know it well make my holiday baking times go much more quickly. The quantity that I can put out in half the time now is amazing.

A tag on the wire whisk stating not dishwasher safe would have been helpful.I wanted to use the mixer right away,so I put the attachments in the dishwasher.when I removed them, the wire wisk was black. I cleaned it up, but you can see the black coming off the top of the wisk. After reading the manual,it did state do not put the wisk in the dishwasher.

I grew up in a home where we used a hand-held mixer or none at all. My husband really wanted to register for a Kitchenaid, which I felt was excessive, but agreed to. Now that we have it, I really enjoy using it. It is so convenient to use, and not too heavy to store in one of our cabinets (we like the open counter space when it's not in use). My only complaint is that the pin that keeps the moving arm attached to the base tends to shift when in use. The first time we noticed it, the pin had worked its way more than halfway out of the machine before we saw the problem! Now, we just keep an eye on it and everything's good. Also, when mixing some things that thicken with time or are bulky like bread dough, the maximum speed doesn't keep up - we can turn it all the way to high, or have it at half speed, but still get the same speed of mixing. Maybe it's not meant to mix dough?
Pros: Design, never used one before but now i love it!, easy to use
Cons: loose pin
