This is my second KitchenAid stand mixer. After 40+ years! I finally had to retire my old KitchenAid mixer. I do a tremendous amount of baking, and this appliance is more than capable of handling the volume.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a stand mixer.

Wanted a mixer that had the power to do not only mixes but breads. I have Arthritis in both hands wrists and arms making mixing of any kind of dough painful and difficult. This mixer has met all my expectations and then some. Simple cookie dough is so fast and thorough. I am excited to try those recipes I have stayed away from because of the heavier mixing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using a hand mixer my entire life and thought it worked fine. I was given a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for Christmas and I. Love. It. It is so much easier to use, not to mention less messy-nothing flies out of the deep bowl and I have two free hands since I don’t have to hold the mixer it does all the work! I couldn’t be happier.

What happened to the old, sturdy model?

After 25 years with my old Kitchenaid, I finally bought this new one. I knew as soon as I took it out of the box that something had changed. The beaters were thinner and the whole machine was noticeably lighter. The speed lever does not moved smoothly and I have to hold down the machine to change speed or the whole thing moves. I am truly disappointed that, like tin foil and milk cartons, the new Kitchenaid has lost its wonderful sturdiness.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
