We received our KitchenAid Stand Mixer as a Christmas present primarily for the purpose of making ice cream (our family gave us the mixer and the ice cream attachments). We've loved making ice cream. It's so easy and better than anything we buy in the store. We don't do a lot of baking, but since it's worked so well for ice cream, we've begun to explore using it for all of the various tasks for which it is intended. We're loving it!

Although the best product for mixing, the loss in weight prevents the mixer from staying stable while mixing heavy dough. washing the bowl in hot soapy water did not remove all the manufacturing oil from the bowl. Had to run it in the dishwasher.

My old Sunbeam stand mixer recently died. I have wanted a Kitchenaid for some time -- and this was the perfect opportunity. I have had if for three weks - and can't say enough good things about it. It does not WALK on my counter - is quiet - easy to use and clean up is easy. I talked my cousin into purchasing one as well. I bought the Flex edge beater and that is awesome - worth purchasing. Can't wait for the holiday baking with grand kids - will be a fun time with this mixer.
