I find this mixer rather difficult, with one beater it does not bring in all the ingredients together without stopping and scraping. I've been used to two beaters with a rotating base, this base is very limiting as well. Not very pleased with this purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is our 2nd Artisan® Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer, the first one was a gift to my wife and after a year of usage a friend of my wife took it from us and went overseas ( she sent us the money later) she liked it so much that she just kept it.
We recently bought another one, we are a multicultural family with members from Europe , Middle East and Asia, so we make dough for Indian chapatis, cookie dough for cookies, and mix several other food items for baking and cooking, this machine is busy everyday in our house.
This is is the best item in our kitchen that has made our life so easy for few years, it saves us ton of time and effort.
This is a must have for every active kitchen in the world.
