I bought the Artisan mixer because my 39 year old classic lock to keep the head down broke. I was making mints for my granddaughter's wedding and needed to get them done. There was no question that the new mixer would be a KitchenAid. The granddaughter is getting a white Kitchen Aid mixer for her wedding present .
